This is a great online tax service. I have used it for several years now, and when you start, all of the information from the previous year has already been pulled in so, for instance, they already have a lot of the info in your W2, filing status, address, etc., and all you have to do is make any necessary changes or additions (such as any job change, income and deduction figures, etc.) Plus the software is very straightforward and easy to understand. You can't beat the price either - the premium service only cost me $16 total for both state and federal, and that includes a schedule C and SE. Check out the competitors - some want like $100 and more for federal alone if you have more than a simple return. I have recommended OLT to many people and everyone has told me they liked it.
long and tedious. took me 4 hours. I could have done it myself on paper in one hour as i used to do. Then when I finished our state return I had to revisit it for them to take the homeowner info so they put in the real estate tax credits. According to them I was finished and ready to file. They should have done it as they already had that info. Then I went to print the forms: had to go back and forth between view forms, go to each form, tell it to print and then go back in again that way for each form. When I was done I had 18 windows opened at the bottom of my computer screen after i had logged out!!!!
I wont use OLT again. There was an error on a social Security number on my taxes. The error should have been caught by the software but it wasn't. I went in to make the necessary change and was charged once again. I just don't like doing business with a company like that. It was not fair. Oh and good luck getting a person on the phone. I will not use ON Line Taxes again.
Up front pricing and very reasonable. Unlike others who advertise as free and then hit you with a whopping bill at the end when you have already put the time and effort in, this place is exactly priced the same up front as when you check out. I have used them for 3 years, last year I tried the tax company that is turbo charged and the supposed free filing cost me $110 when every year prior to that I used OLT and it was exactly what they said it would be. I will stick with these folks.
Lame. Would not take the same info to reenter and verify. Stated my contact was not correct. After .5 hr of wasted time and frustration, I left to use TurboTax. OLI owes me for my lost time using this product. Also, no direct phone line to customer service. Must be ashamed of product and not want any real feedback. Live Chat link was inactive. So frustrated with this experience and my valuable lost time.
