We have experienced exceptional customer service from everyone at Halter Transportation thus far. They are very responsive to our requests, friendly, and no issues to speak of in the lengthy period of time that we have been doing business. Surprised to see the negative reviews, so I wanted to offer some kudos to their team!
Bottom line-Terrible customer service. I get notified on a Friday (4:30pm) that they want to deliver on Monday (before 1130am). Come on guys, people work and have to contact their employers to get time off. Long story short, we negotiate a 1:30pm delivery and Butch (says he is the offfice manager) tells me that they may not be able to deliver it after 1130. I say no problem just give me a call if you cannot make the delivery so I can go back to work. I end up waiting at my home from 1145 to 3:45pm and then give them a call and Butch tells me that they are not delivering today. Are you kidding me? People take time off of work and wait and they dont get paid! The best part is the office manager tried to place blame on me and gets confrontational with the customer who just wants delivery of goods that I have already paid for. I still dont have my product and they cannot even tell me when they can figure out when they can get me my stuff. Terrible customer service and will NOT do business with them again!.
I called to get a tracking number for my client's freight. Guy answers, asks me what I want, and places me on hold. For 15 minutes. After 15 minutes I hear the phone pick up, and then I hear it hang up on me. They don't have any online tracking features, so to complete my work for my client I have to call these guys and that sucks because they suck. Called again, same thing. Was on hold for 10 more minutes and I hear them hang up. Just avoid them if you can.
I used them for shipping steel in 2011 from Missouri to Texas - my experience was good, price was very competitive.
