Terrible renters, in every sense of the word. They circumvent the law at every chance they get. We would've sued them, but being out of state, it didn't seem worth the hassle.
First, it took them over a month to fix an emergency plumbing leak. They made a deal with some plumber, who was unreachable by phone, and who could only come over when no one else was home. Unexcusable.
And our deposit? Paid $750. Got $300 back; that was after Ray, the owner, did a walk through the apartment and checked everything off our list, and said we didn't have to pay anything but the mandatory carpet cleaning. Then, FIVE MONTHS LATER (the law states it must be returned within 30 days), he finally got around to sending us a check, and charged us over $450 for minor, wear and tear replacements. We left that place better than we found it, with no damage that wasn't already present. They literally charged us for things we marked off as damaged when we moved in.
And Ray's wife, Anita... she is rude and inconsiderate beyond belief. Always making up excuses, never returns phone calls or emails. And Ray redirects everything to her. Do not rent from them, unless you have no other choice, and can take them to court.
