I've lived in Chapel Ridge for two years and I cannot wait to move out. During the winter the insides of the windows along the sides and up the middle ice over. The people here are the biggest issue. The Section 8 housing brings in less than desirable people, trash and toys lay everywhere during the warmer months, not to mention random articles of children's clothing.
At one point there was a group of teens smoking pot at the playground. The PLAYGROUND of all places. Children run rampant without any parental supervision more often than not. Very few people here have any form of respect for their neighbors. Rude, loud, careless and overall trashy. Maintenance doesn't even have the common courtesy of wiping their feet before tracking mud/snow through your apartment when they come in.
Making complaints to the office accomplishes nothing, all they do is send out a note to the offending tenants. No threats of eviction after X amount of offenses. If I had the extra money to spend to break the lease, I'd have been gone a long time ago.
I lived at Chapel Ridge Apartments from 2011-2016 the only reason I moved out was due to a relocation to KC. This is one of the best if not the best apartment complex in town. The apartments are well maintained, the grounds always look great and when there is an issue management and maintenance are fast at making sure it is taken care of. I lived in both a two and three bedroom while there and the transition process when moving was great. Kristy and Amanda have been there as long as I have and are great assets to the company they have always gone above and beyond for my family and also go above and beyond for others in need in the complex. They truly do care and are always happy to assist! If I am ever in need of a home in St Joe in the future I would not go anywhere else! Thanks for the wonderful years!
You don't want to live on the third floor and have a lot of heavy furniture. Helped friend move and it was miserable.
People here are obnoxiously loud. Upstairs neighbors have no respect or common sense when it comes to noise. People drive through in the middle of the night playing music excessively loud. Very few people actually pick up after their dogs, so the grass is basically a mine field of dog feces.
Ive lived here for a little over 4 years now, things are pretty great here, never really had problems here except for being accused of stuff I havent done. The pool is great, and the exercise room is a good way to work out if you dont have the money for a gym. Ladies in the office are always willing to help when they can.
I'm currently living at chapel ridge and needed to call matience when I scrolled down to see some horrible reviews. To comment on some of the complaints yes some people don't pick up after their own dogs, it can be loud, the windows do ice in the winter, and they except housing. BUT, every issues that has been stated just from being here a year has been addressed. I'm pretty sure they've hired someone to pickup the feces (from what I've seen). They have a NO tolerance for noise past 9. It really depends on your neighbors but I have a baby and all of my neighbors have kids. So if you can't stand it I don't think the apartment life is for you. Matience is amazing I've never had to wait for anything to be done and I can always count on them even off hours to answer a question. To the comment for the Windows- they went around to every apartment and placed a cement seal to help with the cold. Another great comment it that our electric bill is amazing! We are a middle apartment so we get heat from the top and bottom. $20 on our last bill! So if your someone who can let the windows open these are the places for you. Also, yes they except section 8/ affordable housing. So what? Everywhere you go you will find people that are undisiarable but that's not fair to give a label to everyone on it. Finally, to the comment about the woman in the office.. That's just crap. When I first applied and came in I was greeted and they did everything to help me. They were terrific and nothing has changed. They are very nice woman and they are always willing to work with you. I've seen one of them being yelled at by apatron and they just were as calm and polite as ever. So for you to say that well you obviously were a handful. Myself and family love living here. So many benefits. From the pool, workout room open 24/7, play ground and the sides walks, nice neighbors and available parking(we never have to find a space) I truly recommend for a family just starting out this is the perfect place!
