The outside part you can see looks ok. The rooms are very tiny but thankful to find a place not sold out due to the total eclipse tomorrow.
The rooms are extremely tiny, filthy, and run down. The one night I stayed there, maintenance guys came by my room at around 9pm to install new coaxial cable. The service is surly, and you can't have the tv and ac unit plugged in simultaneously. For $40 a night you expect better. If I could give it 0 stars I would. The Motel 6 just down the street only costs $5.77 more, and is wonderful.
I know not so many like this place. But while my kids and i were homeless it was home for a good 2 weeks. We had no issues at all. And we felt welcomed and helped with any issues we had. I really hope this place gets a full update and stays open for many years to come like they deserve. One of the oldest Motels in saint joseph, mo. And so much needs worked on. I can totally understand how much it will cost. I was personally shown by the lady at the front desk one of their newly renovated rooms. And i was honestly shocked at how well it was redone. BRAVO! I hope the rest of the place is given the same respect. And the owners continue being blessed with a wonderful business.
Does anyone know the prices of the rooms now? When I stayed there in November of last year it was $55 a night.
I would give it 0 stars if I could it was terrible! The Old guy that runs the place was very rude and grouchy, the rooms were disgusting and out dated, I was afraid to even set on the bed! Then he did not want to refund us and cursed at my husband. Just go up the road and spend the extra money on a better room.
